| Montana Buffalo Roundup |

| Taking part in a Montana buffalo roundup during autumn 2003 bestowed some very lively experiences with bison! My fieldwork was performed in mountainous terrain, where I engaged in aerial head counts of buffalo from a helicopter, and also assisted with duties at the corrals. Though my time in Montana was brief and somewhat chaotic, it created quite a sensation while concentrating on the sites and sounds of buffalo approaching the corrals.
During our mountain ventures, we shared rustic living quarters for days at a time. It was a place of retreat and solitude for many of the roundup staff.
